PayPal’s Credit Card processing down for 8 hrs (and counting)
Like I assume millions of other people, I’ve been unable to make a payment with PayPal for over 8 hours now. The following error message appear on the PayPal website when trying to make a payment with a credit card…
The PayPal site is currently experiencing technical difficulties with our credit card processor. We are working to solve this problem as quickly as possible. If you would like to use your credit card, please return to the PayPal website later to complete your transaction. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Quite a concern considering eBay is now making it mandatory for all auctions to include PayPal as a means of payment. And as of July this goes one step further with PayPal being the only option to pay an eBay seller.

Okay this is just unacceptable… It’s still down!! I can understand that maybe over a weekend they dont have the staff on hand.. But it’s now mid week and the Internets most well known payment system doesn’t accept credit cards?!

Paypal showing again today for hours and I can’t make any payments for ebay. This is really poor service, I agree. “The PayPal site is currently experiencing technical difficulties with our credit card processor. We are working to solve this problem as quickly as possible. For two days now, I’ve been trying to pay for my eBay purchases, and have been unable to, for the same reason. Coming from My eBay, I am simply given the message, “You have hit a speed bump!”. Logging in to PayPal, and attempt to make a payment without specifying it is an eBay item that I am paying for, then PayPal reports their CC Processor is down. Such down time for so long is pretty huge for such a global company, isn’t it? Well, this thread is at least showing me one thing; it has happened before.
